    Default My first 3D model

Here it is for some constructive criticism. Keep in mind that I do not have ADT just vanilla acad 2005...

this was all done with adding and subtracting solids...

I started looking at appling materials but all the preloaded materials look horrible...is there somewhere that I can get some better predefined materials??

    Thanks

I hate to say it, but, how about posting it as a dwf? or pdf!!! (sorry, couldn't keep that in any longer) or just take a screen capture to get the point across...

I think the preferred method is jpg (see here) - don't need anything special to open it, it will open in a browser window.

You definitely don't want to be posting drawings - not everyone is on the same version of AutoCAD which can create compatibility problems, it if it isn't internet ready, it will never get the chance to be "Image of the Month"

only suggested dwf/pdf because then it could actually be 3d if he wants us to be able to do the rotating thing... um, but, then again, the 3d in dwf/pdf not everyone can make yet... anyway, ignore my babble..

NP - It makes sense that you should be able to do the rotation thingy, but it also makes sense to be able to just view the pic without downloading any additional viewing software, so I really don't know....my turn to babble

    Hi

As we are all CAD geeks (so to speak), we already should have the necessary free downloadable software installed and in use....

    +

As we are an Autodesk User Group it would make good sense to promote DWF (especially now that most of the latest release products from Autodesk support 3D DWF creation).

The above is just my waffling thoughts on the matter....

    Mike
