Default AutoCAD MEP for small residential

    Hello all

Curious if anyone has been using MEP for small residential jobs (row housing, stacked townhouses, duplexes, etc.)? I’m wondering if there is any productivity improvement on smaller jobs where I’d be doing MEP for the whole building but the building is 6-9 residential units with maybe 2-3 different floor plans. Not sure if the training and setup time is any faster or beneficial than drawing the systems manually.

Is this a one-off situation? Then the setup & training is not worth the time.

If you're looking at the big picture project tools, it is probably worth it to start with a small project and work out some kinks before going to a large project. Just make sure to differentiate between actual project time and learning/setup time.

But on the looking forward front, I would hesitate on the AutoCAD MEP and consider transitioning to Revit instead.
