Default Attributes in Dynamic block misbehaving.

    Hiya gang,

I'm pretty sure I'm losing my mind.

In the process of troubleshooting an issue with a "bad" block, I have made a simple test block, from scratch, in a new file and it exhibits the same issues. Here's the block:

    Ex00.jpg

You get the idea, you can stretch the text over, position the text/landing, flip the whole thing. Easy as pie. We've all made 1000 of them.

I added a few annotation scales to it, looks great, right?

    Ex01.jpg

However, when I flip this brand new block, the attribute rotates 180 degrees in any annotation scale except the current one:

    Ex02.jpg

Furthermore, if I stretch the leader, the text does not move in the other annotation scales:

I mean... am I going wacko!?!?!?!?!? I can make this block in my sleep.

DWG attached. Any help is, as always, much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -JP

I have discovered that if I set MIRRTEXT to 1, the text does not rotate (it mirrors of course):

I also now believe it has something to do with the fact the the attribute is multi line attribute as a single line attribute does not exhibit this issue.

Sync the annotation scales (_annoreset) and they should work correctly. Be sure the current scale shows correct when you sync the block.

    No effect.

The odd thing is that the block attached to my initial post was not from the problem file. It was a block I created from scratch in a new file. So it happens in new blocks.

Also if I edit the block with a single line attribute the problem goes away, make the attribute multi-line and it's back.

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll keep digging.

Just pinging folks here. I still have this issue. It exists at multiple clients with AutoCAD 2018, 2019.

Infinitely repeatable in a new file with a block built from scratch.

Can anyone else at least let me know I'm not alone in having this issue?

Conversely, if you can tell me how to put a text mask on a single line text attribute - that would also solve the issue as this problem does not seem to exist with single line attributes.

    Thanks all!
