    Default Autosaved drawing recovery

Just an interesting observation that may avoid an issue for someone.
I had a drawing crash a couple of times while I was using Bedit.
The auto recovered drawing was only of the block as I was editing it and the rest of the drawing was lost.
Not a major issue as I have frequent autosaves but it could have been if I didn't.

    Have you seen this?
This conflicts with what you're saying, although I have very little faith in these tech docs now days.
I don't know who writes these, but many of them are simply full of bad information.

This wasn't a standard autosave, rather it is the drawing recovery which operates when autocad crashes and gives you the opportunity to recover your drawing up to the last command. This recovery is only of the block edit.
You are correct autosave doesn't work during block edit.

There is no "standard" and "non-standard" autosave.

There are autosave files, autosave backup files, and normal backup files.
These are the files from which the internal "recovery" process may restore your drawing.
I find it easier to just go find the file, change the file extension and open it and not mess with that palette.

Is it possible you used the SAVE command instead of BSAVE while in the block editor?

If you switch tabs while using BEDIT the only safe option to get out is the X on the right end of the Ribbon which will ask you if you want to save or not.
