Default Parametric Filled Region in a Family in Elevation

I am working on a cabinet family that has some specific annotation requirements. Essentially, I want the ability to turn on a hatch pattern on an instance basis in elevation views.

So far I have been able to create a generic annotation family with the desired filled region and even load it into the cabinet family. My issue is it will only show in plan views, not elevation.

Any ideas why? Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Parametric Filled Region in a Family in Elevation

What family template is the family made from? Is it a Generic Model or Generic Model Face Based or Casework. Depending on what template the family was built from determines its orientation for plans and elevations. if the Cabinet was built from a face based family then it is likely when in the family and looking at an elevation front on you are in actuality looking at the plan view.
