    Default Mtext line thickness

Is it possible to change the line thickness of text?

Well if you mean PLOT bolder, yes but it depends on the font(s)
Typically "True Type" Fonts (TTF) you can't really make them plot bolder, you need to pick a bolder font.

But if you're using an AutoCAD "SHX" font like Romans.shx, and you're using plot styles, you put the text on a bolder layer or assign a color that will plot bolder, based on your plot style.
    (see screen shot)

You can even assign a different color to the some of the text within the MTEXT, but that is overriding the MTEXT properties and is sometimes frowned upon.
