Default Existing Polylines for a Surface

I have a file of contours (2d polyines). I attached an image to show the high # of vertices that I don't want to slow my grading file down.

What is a method I could use to create an existing surface from this data but nit require so much memory to slow the files down?

RK's suggestion will reduce the data points and likewise the surface size will be reduced, which may be all you need. If you want to reduce the actual number of vertices in the polylines and make the drawing smaller use the WEEDFEATURES command.

Thanks @jpaulsen - I went too fast and didn't read the content of the URL I posted. I thought I was posting the link you did.

    Nice save.
