Default Revit to CAD Export losing Coordinates

    Good morning everyone,

I am using Revit 2019 and am exporting to DWG in order to put into the Trimble machine. When I export with shared coordinates I must put it into CAD as xref and scale it by 12 in order to have the correct coordinates and distances. If I export without shared coordinates (project internal) and export as inches it comes in at the right size (no need to xref and scale) but I lose my coordinates. I think I have done every conceivable permutation and combination and cannot come up with anything that works 100%. I need proper distances and coordinates. Any ideas?

If you're using Feet and Inches then use that setting for units and Shared.

    Steve,

I do not see that option under exports. You have to chose one or the other, not both.

I believe that shared coordinates will be necessary in order to get the proper coordinates, but when it is selected it causes the export to be scaled down by a factor of 12 no matter if I choose feet or inches.

Sorry, I wasn't at a computer when I wrote my reply. Unit = Inch and Shared should provide a file that is the correct units and shared will reference the Shared Coordinate system origin. Check the CAD file (the one you attach your export to) for a named UCS called Revit60-DefaultLocation. If you find one then delete it and try attaching the xref again.

    Steve,

Where do I go to find Revit60-DefaultLocation?

In AutoCAD > type dducs at the command prompt/line > the UCS dialog should appear

okay, that's good. The settings should work, try exporting a single model view using them, not a sheet view.
