hatched area will not preview or print

I've gotten a drawing in from a surveyor, and the asphalt area is hatched, but will nether display in a plot preview, nor actually print to PDF.

I've changed hatch patterns and scale, enabled and disabled annotative properties for the hatch, and am getting irritated, setting the hatch pattern to solid results in the disappearance of the hatch completely.. I've thrown it away, and recreated the hatch completely with no change

any ideas?

Sounds interesting, could you attach a small hatched rectangle drawing along with the used plot style?
You actually recreated the hatch with no change? Could the color be set to 256 or a similar true color?

the scale and the origin are typical culprits - have you tried to use match properties from another hatch to see if it will change?

The hatch in the drawing seems to appear just fine for me in the drawing, plot preview, and pdf. Just to confirm HPMAXLINES is set to a larger value, such as 10,000,000?

that may be the issue at my end, it was set to 100k, and changing it to 10m worked. thanks

no problem. It is stored in the registry so it often gets overlooked when it works fine on one machine and no on another.. The default value is set to 100k, max is 10m. It can cause performance issues if you have an older machine to have it maxed out, which is why I suppose it defaults to its current value.

I try to stick to that default 100k value so drawings will most likely plot the same for coworkers. Simply raising the pattern scale from 5 to 6 did the trick.
