    Default zoom to extents

I'm having a problem with the mouse wheel when I roll to zoom in or out.
after maybe 1 or 2 pulses of the wheel whatever is on screen either zooms in or out to infinity, both in model and paper space.
i've check and adjusted the sensitivity and scrolling for the mouse but it still happens.

    any clues?

    thanks
    Robert

Options → User Preferences → [Right-click Customization…] check "Turn on time-sensitive right-click:" will prevent those zoom extents from happening and still allow you to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel.
