I work for a contractor that, among other things, installs raised access floors. We have Revit families for each of the components that make up the raised floor system. When building our coordination model, it can be really time consuming to place each component (panels, pedestals, etc.) every 2' each direction. My last one was a 150.000 SF casino, so even using array copy takes forever. I want to be able to draw the outline of the area where I want to place the access floor and have the components populated at the correct spacing and locations. It would be loosely similar to placing an acoustical ceiling. I'd like to be able to shift the placement of the modules within the floor system if needed like you can with an acoustical ceiling, if needed.
I know you can nest families in a line-based generic family and do something similar in one direction, but is there a way to do this in two directions?
