Default Hand Rail with brackets evenly distributed when stretched

Is it possible to create a dynamic block that will evenly distribute an object at a "No Greater Than Distance" and evenly place them between two fixed end objects such has a Handrail with brackets? If the two end brackets are closer than 48" it will not add a bracket. If they are farther apart than 48" it will add a bracket(s) between them evenly distributed. I have seen someone ask a similar question from 2017 about an angle iron with holes drilled in it. But they used over 20 stretch actions on a single Parameter. There has to be an easier way. Thank you in advance.

A while back I created a dynamic block for placing traffic barrels at an even spacing based on a maximum distance between barrels. The block uses an ARRAYPATH with the block for arraying the barrels. A Linear constraint (d1) controls the length of the object used for the path of the array. The maximum spacing is input through a User Parameter (MAX). A second User Parameter (Spacing) calculates the number of objects that should be in the array by using the length of the linear constraint and the maximum spacing user parameter value. This user parameter is used in the properties of the array path to supply the number of objects to place evenly within the array.

Thanks again for the quick the response. This is like what I could modify to fit my exact needs, however. I do not know how to create the block using ARRAYPATH as you have and/ or combine it with other objects that need to be stretched. Is there a tutorial someplace for this exact process?

ARRAYPATH is one of the basic autocad array functions. Its not a dynamic block function. In this instance its being done within the block editor and then the block's dynamic functions alter the object used as the path and then the array follows that altered path. You can make the arraypath before making it into a block or within the block editor.
