quick elevation editor

what would cause the quick elevation editor to stop working.
sometimes it works when I first open a drawing, then it stops working.
if I select a feature line, it asks for a point, site or reference instead of giving me the point i'm interested in.

possibly the wrong site is active. chose site, and pick the site that the feature line belongs to.
