Default Simplex Font in Point Label Styles

We recently made the decision to start using simplex more in our drafting. We also have point label styles for different items, mainly storm or sanitary so we can edit the dip information through the edit label text command a bit quicker rather than constantly creating multileaders. Works quite nicely actually, but now that we switched to Simplex the text looks like dog doodoo when you run the edit text label command on it and that's not a huge problem, but it's difficult to try to read in the editor and make sure you don't have a typo until after you hit ok. It looks fine in the point label style editor though.

I'm not optimistic, but anyone have any ideas or suggestions on this? I found that if I change my uniform background it changes it in the edit box, but not only do I not desire switching my uniform background color but even if I was open to it any color I selected didn't do it any good anyways.
