Default Update window glass size as I edit geometry

I work in building facades, specifically glass. I want to be able to draw a window, and have a field inside each opening that shows the actual glass size required. I can manually insert these when we draw the project, but when we field measure and I need to adjust the drawings, I want to be able to stretch the frame (for example make it 2" wider), and the text automatically update because I stretched the geometry. I know how to create a block that will output the glass sizes, but I can not stretch the geometry of a block and would have to manually manipulate each affected block. Example attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well you can the AREA field to just the rectangle (object - without being a block).

But instead of having a closed rectangle, you could use single lines to make up your rectangle, and grab the length field for 2 of the sides of your rectangle to get the results you show.
That way if you grab the ends and stretch, those values update as desired.

To clarify, there are (2) separate fields in that text, one for each line (object) reading it's length

You could make it as a dynamic block. (see attached) After resizing, using the provided grips, a simple regen updates the values.
