Default how to add "description" instance parameter to all beams

Hi I'm wondering how to add a "description" instance parameter to all structural framing families so I can add "low" or "high" or "header" and have a tag that calls out what I enter for that description. I remember we had that at the last place I worked and I'd like to recreate it. Thanks

After some research it sounds like I need to create a shared parameter called “beam description” and assign it to the structural framing category. Does that sound correct?

Yes you would need to create the shared parameter in the family and then it would be able to be scheduled and tagged in the project.

    Edit:
Forgot that you need to do another step.
In the project you need to create a new Project Parameter, select the Shared Parameter you created and then assign it to the Structural Beam Systems or Structural Framing category.
