Default Can I extract an inserted CAD file to modify it?

I have a Revit model with a 3D CAD file that has been inserted. I'd like to modify the CAD file but it has disappeared from the project folder. Is there a way to pull this CAD file out of the Revit model to work on it?

So if it's still visible in the Revit model, but not in the file structure, then I'm guessing it was imported rather than linked. So here's my thought: duplicate the view it is visible in and change VG settings to show only the 3D CAD then export to DWG.

To update it in Revit, it would then have to be re-imported (after the old one is deleted) ... preferably linked, not imported, but that's up to your workflow.
