In ArcGIS and QGIS it's possible to create lower resolution copies of Images depending on the zoom level. They call it Pyramids.
(See 3. here: https://www.gis-blog.com/how-to-spee...gis-rendering/)
It makes zooming in/out wayyyyyy faster. For example, for twenty five 10cm aerial images, it was taking 16 seconds to refresh the view after a zoom out. With Pyramids, it's practically instantaneous.
For example, for each .tif, it will create a .tif.ovr (overwiew) file.
I now know about this to make working with images faster :
But is it possible, with C3D, to use something similar to pyramids/overviews? Can it create it's own? Can it use the .ovr file created by QGIS?
Update: Corrected typo: MAPOPTIONS to MAPIOPTIONS
