Have you set a break point in your code? It will allow you to step through and view the variables as they are being set. Is the branch that sets that value ever being hit?

If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

The variable does get set but the while condition was not being evaluated because the program was running through the foreach loop before it would evaluate the while condition again.
I came at the problem from a different angle and was able to get my code running successfully in all testing.
As I stated previously I learned more about LISP from this one question than in 2 previous days of searching.
I would like to thank Tom, Opie and Big-Al for nudging me in the right direction you guys are great!
I truely appreciate that you take the time to share your wealth of knowledge with others.
You are definitely going above and beyond with your efforts.
PS I panicked when I went back to the looping thread and my question and indeed all of the answers were gone but I found it again.
The bad thing is that when the new thread was started I was no longer subscribed to it so I wasn't aware it was moved.
