    Default Feature Line Grip Edit

The attached image has a feature Line selected and one of the grip edits. I use to select feature line and then hover over the grip edit and my Z coordinate in the customization bar would read the elevation. This was very helpful for fine tuning relative grading.

The Z coordinate will not read it anymore. Any system Variable I can change for that?

If you were to use the QUICK ELEVATION tool or review the Feature Lines' data in Elevation Editor
is there an elevation shown for the vertex in question?

    Forget the questions above;

    ENTER CTRL+ I

or click on the COORDINATES to turn them back on

Long time, stranger; glad to see you around still.

Interestingly, CTRL + I simply toggles the value of COORDS sysvar between 0, 1, 2... But ignores value of 3.

Was there a specific value you were recommending?

    Cheers

That toggle most likely 'ignores' the value for 3 based on the help file:

    0
Absolute coordinates are displayed; the coordinate display is updated only when a point is specified.
    1
Absolute coordinates are displayed; the coordinate display is updated continuously in realtime.
    2
Relative polar coordinates are displayed when a command is active and while you specify a point, distance, or an angle; the coordinate display is updated continuously in realtime.
When a command is not active, absolute coordinate values are displayed.
Note: Z values are always in absolute coordinates.
    3
Geographic (latitude and longitude) coordinates are displayed; the coordinate display is updated continuously in realtime.
The coordinate format is controlled by the GEOLATLONGFORMAT system variable.
Note: Z values are not displayed when the drawing file contains geographic location information.

In that the setting to '3' would again leave the user without elevation data during the grip hover operation.
