Default Computing fill volume of individual lots in a subdivision

What would be the best methodology for computing fill volume on individual lots in a subdivision
and also be able to compute the total volume for all lots.

Should I have one site and one grading group or individual sites and groups.

Or should I use feature lines and create surfaces for each lot and compare to the existing.

Note: All lots will have a house pad that is above natural ground.

that seems to work for what i'm looking for except the report isn't in order.
    I did 4 lots and the report came back as 3, 2, 1, 4.

    any ideas.

You have a proposed surface, existing surface and volume surface, as you're already computing the overall earthwork volume.

You can now simply apply a Hide boundary to your proposed surface that covers the entire Surface (draw a rectangle larger than your site), then apply a Show boundary for an individual lot, and refresh the volume surface you already have.

When done computing individual lot volumes, simply remove the Hide and Show boundaries from your proposed Surface definition (in case it is used as DREFs, etc in other project drawings).

Let me go through my notes...one MAY be able to add a sort order to the LandXML style sheet.

I don't know that I have time in the next few days to run some experiment.

Otherwise one would be reduced to Creating an empty surface for each parcel,
pasting in the FG surface, and then creating a volume surface for each.

Then adding them to the Volumes Dashboard, and finally using the cut fill report for the contents of the Volumes Dashboard.

while searching for an answer online, I did see a routine for sorting the xml file from a number of years ago.
not something I cared to attempt, so what I did was create a pad at elevation for each lot and used the grading tool
to create a grading to my existing surface for all 81 lots. I know, scary right? I then created a surface from all the gradings
and pasted both existing and proposed into a composite surface. then drew closed polylines around each lot and used the
bounded volume option in volumes dashboard. worked great until I had to rebuild my surface and the volumes dashboard
rearranged the order of the lots......grrrrrrrr.

As the Parcel Volume Report is a .net report, the possibility is there to add sorting. Unfortunately, you will need to modify the source code to enable column sorting. That report does not appear to depend on the LandXML data to sort the parcels.

The source code for the report can be found in a sub folder within the Reports directory, which is somewhere in the ProgramData branch of folders.
