    Default style and feature labels

I usually have 4 or 5 different shape files that I have to import that have certain data that needs to be displayed.
Is there a way to create separate styles, i.e. color and size for each point and be able to select them from a list rather than
    recreate them each time.

same goes for the feature labels. I use a different expression for each of the different points.
having to recreate that each time is very time consuming.

    thanks for any help

    Hi RMK,
You should be able to save most or your expressions, styles, layer settings and labels inside a DWT specifically for your MAP Imports and then when you have to run the imports, start a new drawing using that DWT file. Essentially, run the import process and once ran do a save-as and save it to a new template. I would probably go one step further and save each of the settings as a separate block in that template and then erase the content so the block would be listed in the block table as long as you don't purge the drawing.

Aside from using Toolspace Settings tab to drag & drop Styles as needed, you also have the IMPORTSTYLESANDSETTINGS Command, and TREFs (Reference Templates) in newer versions.

not sure if I was clear enough on what I'm looking for.
I have shape files for soil samples, wetland flags and various data points.
they are 3 separate shape files. I have to import each one separately and then assign the style and feature labels to them.
each time i have to pick map, unit, text size and color and under content, which attribute to display.

it would be nice to have a way of selecting, say wetland flag and it would automatically populate the parameters for that data

    see images
    hope this makes sense.
