Default Laggy pointer vs display performance

Greetings - this is a new problem in autocad 2022 for me. My previous version was 2018 and this was not a problem. I'm also on a different computer from 2018 to 2022 autocad. The exact issue is if I want a precision pointer I need hardware acceleration turned off. If hardware acceleration is off I literally can not move an xref in my drawing as it tries to redraw it as I try to move it. If I want to be able to move xrefs with no issue I have to turn hardware acceleration on but that causes my pointer/ cursor to lag which is completely untenable. In 2018 I had hardware acceleration on and my pointer did not lag and moving xrefs was easy. What can I do to fix this. Thanks you in advance.
