    Why can I not delete a viewport? (Layer is NOT locked)

    I was going to ask that too, but he said "yes" to selectable.
    I assume you couldn't select the viewport if on defpoints layer and the layer zero is frozen and other similar scenarios.

    FYI,

    All 3 of our users are experiencing the same issue. We found that selecting the Polyline using Selection Cycling we can then delete it.

    That weird though that this occurred with all of us yesterday.

    Sounds like you were using a clipped viewport if you have a pline. Were either the pline or vp on the defpoints layer? If so, when layer 0 is locked or frozen that will affect stuff on the defpoints layer. Don't put your own things on defpoints. Leave that layer for dim's to use. Make your layer non-plotting if your desire is to not have it show up on the print.

    Yes! ever since ACAD 2000, we've had the ability to assign "no-plot" to layers, before that all we had was "defpoints".
    We use NCS layer standards, so for us it's "G-ANNO-NPLT" (set to no-plot). We also use other client's standards, so those may be "VIEWPORTS" or similar.
