    Default nested xrefs

is there a lisp routine or some other way of locating where an xref is being used.
I can't unload or remove an xref and I've opened every drawing that I can think of
that would possibly be sharing it to no avail.

edit: solution found. turns out 2 of the xrefs were inserted as a block from another dwg.
one I exploded the block everything was fine.
