    Default missing data table

I am dragging and dropping a shp file in a dwg. the points show up but I
can not get the data table to display. Is there a setting somewhere to bring it up?

It also does not show up when I use the data connect option to bring in the shape.

Are you certain the SHP file contains object data?

What are the settings you are using for DATA if you use the MAPIMPORT command?

Yes, it has data in it. I can drag and drop it on another computer running the same software.

we tried just dragging and dropping the shp file into the drawing. cannot get the layer to display the data table in the task pane.
we also tried connecting the shp file via the data connection. the layer is there, the points come in as map features, but when you
select the layer, the data table icon isn't selectable (grayed out). I've tried typing MapDataTable at the command line, but no table is displayed.

it works just fine on 2 other machines in the office. I'm wondering if we need to run a repair software session to see if that will fix the problem.

Does the Property palette list any data for the selected object?

Hopefully, a software repair resolves the issue without causing too long of a delay.

Yes, if you select the map feature on screen and go to properties palette it does show the data.

Is it possible the dialog box is off screen? I don't remember the steps to bring it back into view.

If it is a normal dialog box, the keyboard shortcut is "Alt" + "Spacebar"
