    Default raise/lower surface

If I have surface that is built from feature lines (closed polygons representing a building pad and various parking and drive areas) and I
raise or lower that surface, do the feature line elevations change accordingly or do I have to manually modify them?

They won't go with the surface, unless you created them as relative to that surface. I woul think if they were used to create the surface, and the surface was then raised, that adjusting the feature lines would cause the surface to rebuild, and the raise a second time.
