Callout Error - "Attempt to create or manipulate a segmented section has failed"

I have a user who is trying to create a detail callout of from a wall section (which was also drawn as a callout from a buildng section). They get an error message "Attempt to create or manipulate a segmented section has failed." And the only option is to cancel or delete. I have never come across this before. Any ideas?

Did he create the callout in a segmented section view?

A segmented section is one where the section line is broken and one piece moved to a different position. Possibly if his callout includes that boundry, it's bringing on the error.

Just came across this today--in case anyone else is experiencing it, in my case it was the clip settings that were causing the error. I was trying to split a section and move part, and it wasn't working. The clip settings were to blame.
