When creating a corridor what do are the technical specifics being done when I leave the box checked to "Set baseline and region parameters"?

What happens after you click OK to continue the process if the box is checked? What happens when that box is unchecked?
There may or may not be a dialog that opens after you click OK to set those parameters.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
