Default LDT points to Blocks OR LDT points to C3D Points by selection only

We have an older dwg that we have points in done in LDT. They are AEC points. We need to work on this dwg. They are set in place and some are rotated for display. We tried to use Convert Land Desktop Points in C3D and it converted them all to C3D points, but they all take on one point style and the rotation of that style. We are not able to select some and not others to get the end results we need. We explored a list routine to convert the AEC points to blocks holding the elevation and rotation but that proved to be more difficult then we thought and couldn’t quite get it to work.

If anyone has a way to convert the AEC points holding the elevation and rotation, we are willing to try it. We are ok with converting to an attributed bock if someone has a lisp routine that works.

    Thanks for any help.

What do you need to do with the points? If you need them for a surface, convert them within a separate drawing to use in the surface. You can then create a Data Shortcut for the surface, which can then be Data Referenced in other drawings.

Once points are changed to COGO points, you can assign them to different point groups. These different point groups can have point and/or label styles to match has needed. Of course, you would need to create the point and label styles to match your needs.

We need to regrade a few areas. I understand what you are saying, we tried converting to C3D points but the process to make the dwg look good was cumbersome. We have point groups in C3D to set the angles BUT it is a lot of work reset 3,000 proposed points to groups that set the angle. We area using Desc Keys but the points are set for visual readability not by Desc Key. We angled them in LDT to make them readable. So a lisp routine to convert the old AEC points to blocks using current angle and elevation would work best for what we need. We do not need a surface or cutfill.

I have not had to work with LDT and would not know what data is available through AutoLISP. I do know you can set the Rotation and LabelRotation properties of COGO point labels using AutoLISP. If you can get the rotation of the LDT points and associate it with the point number, you could then modify the associated COGO point to match.
