    Default Outer Boundary

Is there a method or trick to keeping an outer boundary for a surface for keeping the TIN from losing its association when adding new vertices to it?

How are you adding new vertices to the boundary? Assuming you are using a closed polyline, if you change that polyline to where AutoCAD provides it a new handle or ID, then the association will be lost. This could be from exploding it, or converting it to a feature line or different object type.

Do you have your surface set to Rebuild-Automatic?
