Default Transparency in style of Pipe Hatch

I use styles so as to function like blocks. 97+ percent of the time the layer is 0 but the attributes get defined in the style.

It would be wonderful if there were a transparency factor in the "Pipe Hatch Display" so I do not have to create a second layer for hatching.

Any way or creative alternative to do that?
