Default "DEFAULT" banner appears when hovering over viewport boundary in PaperSpace

This is something i've never seen before, and this is a long ways from my first rodeo with Acad.

Coworker opens a drawing, and by hovering over the viewport boundary in Paperace, a huge banner pops up with the word DEFAULT in it.

It'd not selectable, and Audit, Purge, Recover does nothing.

    Ideas?

That is weird. I've not encountered that one. Does it go away after moving off of the banner? Which version?

I've never seen that one before either. Does it do it on all dwgs? or just that one? Any custom plugins?

It appears to be associated with the Viewport object, selecting or hovering over the Viewport and the banner pops up. Copying the viewport also copies the banner.... New Viewports from scratch do not have the issue, so it seems to be a glitch in the viewport object -- that can't be corrected by Audit or Recover. The workaround for now is to save a view in the Viewport, and restore that view into a new viewport.

That seems like the most logical fix. I wonder if changing the vp scale from the "default" would fix it? or whatever property has a default.

Seems like this is associated with the rollovertips sytem variable. This can be customized in the CUI. Rollovertips set to 1 will display properties of any object in paperspace and model space. Zero turns them off

Hi dasmus, Welcome to the forums.

That may be remotely possible, but would still be a corruption of that feature. Cadtag mentioned that new viewports do not do this. That means that the dwg was corrupted.

Something built into Civil 3d? Some customization?

No, not due to customization. Just a corrupted viewport.
