Default Getting cut plane correct for window displays

I'm trying to figure out how to get my windows to display correctly in plan view when I raise them above the view range cut plane and use a plan region with view range cut plane set to different height.
I've tried every conceivable cut plane height in my plan region but all I get is an empty rectangle for my window display. Is there a formula for knowing what height to use for a cut plane to get all of the components to display? Currently using a fixed transom window that displays fine if I lower it in the view to within the view range cut plane.

I'm not an expert on this (I do structural), and I don't know what you mean by a "use a plan region with a cut plane set to a different height" but....
Why can't you set your view range deeper (higher than the window cut plane and down to where you need it at the floor) with the cut plane at the windows where they are?
