    Default CONVERTING TO DGN FILES

I am having trouble converting civil 3d files to dgn. All of my drawings have
xrefs of either images, pdf's, excel sheets, & dwgs. I think my client has an older version of Microstation.
I've tried exporting the layouts separate but that didn't work either.

    any suggestions?

I don't use C3D, but I think you should explain more about what kind of trouble you're having, e.g. error messages, etc.

First off, what version of C3D are you running? What version of MS is he running? MS doesn't really like C3D that well so there may be some issues in that your software is too new while his is too old.

MS handles PDF and such differently than it does reffing in another drawing. PDF files and such are reffed in through Raster Manager and not through the normal file reference manager.

First, I would check to see what version of MS he is running. Is it V8i or is it OpenRoads Designer. If he has V8i and you have 2023, then you are ****ed. MS does NOT like anything that is C3D. It can tolerate basic autocad but not much.

Unless you HAVE to send him C3D, the only way I see is it is to explode your drawing to get rid of any data stored so his software can load it. Then he is just going to have to 'huff-n-puff' attaching the PDF files and such himself.
