    Default DBL CLICK TEXT EDIT

I CAN'T DOUBLE CLICK ON MTEXT TO EDIT TEXT WHEN IT IS IN PAPER SPACE AND ABOVE A VIEWPORT WITHOUT THE SECOND CLICK ACTIVATING MODEL SPACE THROUGH THE VIEWPORT. PICKFIRST IS SET TO <1>. PICKSTYLE SET TO <1>, DBLCLKEDIT IS <ON>. I HAVE TOGLGLED THROUGH ALL VARIABLES WITH NO EFFECT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT OTHER VARIABLES WOULD AFFECT THIS CONDITION. IF I TURN THE VIEWPORT OFF, I CAN EDIT THE PAPERSPACE TEXT WHEN DOUBLE CLICKING ON IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    First suggestion...TURN OFF CAPS LOCK!
You have to double click on the linework of the text itself. If you click on any white space, then you will activate the viewport. Zooming out helps make the text more 'dense'. Otherwise, window select the text, then right click and choose an edit option. Or type TEDIT and then you will only be able to select text, not the viewport. If you still want to double click, you might try enlarging your pickbox.

The problem is only in two files I'm working on. I can open other files and double click to edit without any issues. The two problem files have a .bmp raster image attached in model space and I'm assuming that has something to do with it. When I detach the raster image, they problem persists. I may have to start a new file from scratch and then copy/paste what I need from the old file. I can edit the text using a window pick and right click, but that is time consuming. I did try all the things you suggested. Thanks for your reply!

I tried increasing the size of the pickbox and that worked for double clicking. Make it close to the height of the text.

Thanks for taking the time to share the solution. That's much appreciated.
