AutoCAD to Microstation

Is there any improvement of transfer above DXF from AutoCAD to Microstation?

Specifically Polylines to Smartlines and Linetypes

I've imported a few dgn files but not the other way around. All I know is that the EXPORT command can save to dgn. I don't have access to Microstation to check the quality.

caveat -- the export to DGN fails to handle an AEC objects. So exporting to ACAD _first_ is what I do with my C3D drawings.
