Default Bar Scales for Modelspace & Paperspace

    Hi All

    Been Fiddling again!

I know the latest version of autocad has some form of barscales linked to the viewport scale.
However I'm sure there are many out there who, like me are using an older version, mess about with barscales and many of you will have already developed your own.

Here are a couple of blocks for Model and Paper space which I hope some of you will find helpful.

Please let me know if there are any problems

    Geoff

I don't think AutoCAD has something out of the box that does that. The tool palettes have a scale bar similar to yours, but I think yours is better. Perhaps you meant something like this?

    Geoff:
Can you help me out on the barscale use.
    I'm using Autcad 2024
I inserted the .dwg into a drawing I creating and when I dbl-click on the block
the block editor opens and I see the parameters....
How do I set it such that the bar scale becomes 1"=100'

You select the block (not double click) and it highlights the pulldown menu - you select that and then pick the scale you want.

Fun fact, this bar scale "scales up" in MS which I wasn't prepared for. All the bar scales I use are 1:1 PS with different scales (visibility states)

    Hi tedg

I have just done the same exercise and the dwg becomes a block so explode the block and it works OK, also if you copy and paste the barscale it works OK.
    Well it did for me.

True, if you insert it from another file, it's a nested block, explode it once and then it's the dynamic block with all the bells and whistles.
And if you copy/paste the working block from another file, it should be fine as is.

Thanks! I hadn't seen a model space bar scale before.
