    Default Point Group Order

    Good morning.

I have something kind of odd happening with the list of my point groups. In the prospector tab, my point groups are in alphabetical order like I want them to be. But when I right click on point groups, the order is backward. It is making it confusing because I need a couple of groups that I want to use as overrides to be at the top. I really don't want to manually flip the order of them particularly because it is correct in the list. Any suggestions?

    Thank you!
    Desi

The display order of the point groups in the list determines the override priority. If a point needs a style or label override, it must be in a point group that is higher in priority, therefore, you will need to also rename your point groups if you are wishing for them to be in alphabetical order.

I understand that. The problem is that the list is upside down in the point group properties and I'm not sure why.

I'm sorry I didn't explain my problem clearly. I'm attaching two screenshots.

Have you attempted to change the order the Point Groups dialog? Did this update the order in the Prospector? What about the order after opening the dialog again?

Have you run either recover or audit on the drawing in question?

Audit didn't work. If I change the order in the point groups dialog, the order in the prospector updates. I'm not sure what happened to reverse it. Seems to be a problem in multiple files. I'm attaching another screenshot. I was hoping there was another way to swap the order like there is in the bottom list. The bottom allows me to click name to reverse the order.

I figured out what happened. I have used the drag method to overwrite the current point groups. Apparently, I have to start at the bottom and go up instead of copying them top to bottom. For some reason, that changes the order in the file I copy them to. Ultimately, I'm going to fix the files I did this in and it shouldn't happen on files going forward. Thanks for the help!
