Set Feature Line Default to Elevation

When creating a feature line I am prompted to enter an elevation on my first point but after I enter the elevation, the prompt asks for a grade next. This is so frustrating when you don't remember to change it back to elevation. Does anyone know if there is a way to set the default to continue the prompts for elevation?

I do it that way but wondered if there was a way to change the default.

You would probably have to roll your own "make feature line" command.

set your OSNAPZ to Zero and it should remember the elevation of the point, then E for elevation (will also remember the elevation of the point).
