    Default What 11 x 17 Printer

I am just starting a single person civil engineering site design firm. For the time being, I will be printing 11" x 17" paper format as my standard drawing size. However I'm also doing design for clients using an outside support drafter that uses AutoCAD ( don't know the year) He draws a drawing on a 22" x 34" format and reduces for printing - 50%. He then sends me a PDF file of the drawing and I'm having to use the local library to print. MAJOR ISSUE: using his file and printing at fit to page setting , I don't get a correct scale. BUT When selecting page type, I can't select "Original Size" or anything but shrink to paper size.

How can I fit it so the print is to size? What 11 x 17 all-in-One printer is going to work??

    Thanks from a newbie.

This is more of an Adobe or other PDF software printing question.

In Adobe, you should be able to specify the size of the print as a percentage for a custom scale. For a 22"x34" sheet, the 11"x17" sheet size would need a 50% reduction. Of course, depending on the printer, the margins of the printable area may make this reduction not exact fit the printable area of the paper.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

Are you saying that the pdf he sends you is already at 50%. Then you should print at 100%, not scale to fit. This should resolve the issue of different printer margins, as Opie mentioned.
