Default Copying, moving, or alighning a hosted element changes elevation to 0

As it says in the title, if I try to copy, move, or align a ceiling mounted return grille that is being hosted by the ceiling, the elevation changes to 0 and there doesn't appear to be any way to get it back to the ceiling level. I'm just learning Revit MEP (I'm actually trying to work through a tutorial) so be merciful if there's some stunningly obvious solution.

    Thanks
    David

I've been having the same problem with electrical elements, in version 2024 for sure, but i think 2023 is when i started noticing it. When copying devices or lights along a wall or ceiling, the copied elements do not retain the Schedule Level setting, it's just blanked out, and they say 0" offset. You can fix this by selecting all of your copied elements and set Schedule Level to your current level, and then the offset height will show correctly. It is holding the height, just losing the reference level, so it doesn't know the dimension. It's Very annoying when tagging heights of wall or ceiling devices. This used to work just fine in previous versions. I think it's certainly a bug. But if Revit has done this intentionally, i wish they'd change it back.

I don't know a lot about MEP and hosted elements, but usually if moved or copied, you would need to "assign a new host" which should fix it I assume?
I know that's true for any hosted items I use in structure.
