Default New highlight feature? How to turn off?

Does anyone know how to turn the new auto highlight feature off? I'm talking about how an entity highlights when you move your crosshairs on top of it. I thought it was cool at first, but now, on a dwg with a lot of hatch...it's driving me nuts! And it is slowing the crosshair movement down.

    Thanks

Good question. I believe it's in Options, under the Selection tab. If you want, I believe you can turn off just hatching highlighting & leave the other ones turned on to see if you get enough of a performance boost. That way you can still have some of the new functionality.

    Hope this helps!

Ahh, I hadn't noticed the "Visual Effect Settings" button. That did it.

    Thanks!

I hated it for a while but got to like the way I could be sure which object was being selected in 3D views. You might find it helpful from time to time even though you turn it off most of the time.
