section view crop region doesn't snap

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but why is it that sometimes when I drag the edges of the crop region of section views, they will snap to levels, walls, and floors but sometimes they won't.

Is there some reason that this happens only occasionally or am I missing something?

It may not snap to walls sometimes because the wall isn't being cut perpendicular by the section and as such there is no plane for the edge of the crop region to snap to...

I am having a problem with this right now. I know this post is old. But is there any new info on this topic? I have a bunch of interior elevations which have crop regions that used to snap, now they don't. Any ideas? Please...

Forget it, I figured it out. This is what happens when you don't realize all you floors and ceilings are off.
