    Hi,
    Need solidworks to be installed for import solidworks files as a reference model in inventor?

    No, you do not, but you need to use a version of Inventor that supports that version of SolidWorks. For example... SW 2016 came out after Inventor 2016 so Inventor 2016 will not work with SW 2016, but Inventor 2017 will.

    installed Inventor LT 2016, open Solidworks 2013 file, (PFA the image) Solidworks2013.png, im not getting reference model option, why?

    If this importing file is an assembly it will not "Reference" it would have to be a single part unless they didn't include these options at all with Inventor LT which is a much cheaper version of Inventor.
