Solid CAD Files

We can all be a bit lazy at times (specially me), so I find it easier to simply drag and drop models into my assemblies rather than model them from scratch (I tell the boss it's more productive).

For that reason, I've started this thread as a ready reference for sites where good solid data can be easily accessed. Here are a few to start, please add some of your own.

This is a great idea. I have used most of the sites you have listed and there are hundreds of models available. I also found that most manufactures also have models on their websites or available on CD from the sales rep.

Another good place I've found is the McMaster-Carr site.

I don't believe that they have Inventor files on the site but most of the models can easily be brought into Inventor.

http://contentwarehouse.part-solutio...ortal/autodeskI found this link, with drawings from over 100 manufacturers, on the Autodesk website. They advised me they are working on a search engine which will allow us to search by part type and not just manufacturer. Cudos to Autodesk.

I know this is the competition's website, but currently I find it to be set up much more efficiently than Autodesk's content central. This site also has user submitted parts, some of which you can't find at the manufacturer's sites. http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/3dco...l/cc_frame.asp I also find quite a bit of useful content through PartSpec from ThomasNet.com.
