Default Can in-place walls be room bounding?

I want to wrap some tapered metal building rigid frame columns, and I want the wrap to be tight around the columns, so that gyp. bd. will follow the column taper. As far as I know, I will have to use an in-place blend to make the sloped portion of the wall. There are walls between rooms that occur right on the column/frame gridlines, and so those walls need to come up and meet the in-place blends. I assume I will have to edit the wall's profile to match the tapered columns, but I need that in-place blend to be room bounding, because otherwise Revit will think there is an open gap where the normal wall ends at the column and will give me redundant area/room messages and all that stuff.

You'll have to use room separation lines to create the boundry.

dang, that sucks since this occurs so many times between each classroom in this school I'm working on.

What about letting the wall continue past the structure and using an architectural column family that uses the blend to create the shape you want? The column should join the wall and let it look the way you want in plan?

Well, it's a pre-engineered metal building column, which has the tapered inner flange (leans inward) while the outside flange is vertical. We are wrapping the column w/ furring channels and gyp. board such that the finished surface of the column wrap will follow the same taper.

So if I did one as a column family, would the intersection wall join to it correctly, i.e. the end of the wall follow the same taper instead of being vertical?

This simple tapered column ( 1 side straight and the other 3 tapered ) was made as as an in-place family blended architectural column. The wall was then projected past the column and its profile was edited.

You can group the lines with a the column, and then place the group, rather than the column.
