How does one unlock a toggle in Revit?
|
You toggle between one condition and the next.
In the case of a dimension for instance, it could be locked or unlocked.
If the lock icon is unlocked , the dimension value is modifiable and the element it references is free to move in any direction. You can click on the dimension value and change it.
If the lock icon is locked the dimension value is fixed, preventing any change to the distance between its referenced components. You cannot click on the dimension value to change it.
Clicking on the lock switches it between the locked and unlocked state. ( ie toggles between the two )
Once a dimension is locked, you must unlock it to change its value.
thank you for your help beegee, however my question is about the function with the "tack looking" icon. I believe it is called the toggle. It seems to prevent me from being able to edit some filled regions and I can't turn the locking function off. Even being in the objects workset does not allow me to edit it.
The " tack " icon is a "pin" used to lock an element's location in space ( ie it does not move when an associated element moves )
Select the object and the blue pin appears. Click on the pin and a red strike line appears through the pin - it is now disabled. ( You have "toggled" the pin condition from on to off )

For some reason I am unable to make the red slash appear. When I click on the pin/tack nothing happens
By any chance is the object in question part of a grouped (possibly created as an array)? If so, you hve to ungroup it before unlocking the pushpin.Originally Posted by kslover
