help! with viz 4

Problems getting my viz 4 to work on my new laptop...runing windows xp professional with service pack 2...freezes up just when i go to open a file...any ideas?? i ran the sp2 patch and tried all their fixes but same problem keeps occuring
i have acad 2005 loaded..could that be causing problems? it seems to work fine tho

I have several versions of acad & viz 2005 loaded & no problems.

Have you tried a repair or reinstall?

what hotfix do u have installed. i assume i have the latest sincei just bought this
i was wondering if maybe that was the problem...kb886903
don't see anywhere online where that was a problem

my problem is it freezes up every timei try to open a file or link ..ughhhh

Unfortunately I don't have viz 4 on my computer so I can't try to duplicate the problem you are stating. My advice would be to try the stuff I recommend in my previous post & see if that fixes it.

I have not had any problems running the latest windows service packs with any autodesk software as I always install windows updates (hot fixes) as soon as they're available.
