Default Scheduling window assemblies in xrefs

Is there a way to NOT have a schedule bring in all the windows and doors that are included in a window assembly when doing a schedule with an xref in it?

In other words - I want to schedule a project using xrefs but when I have an assembly with a door and two windows, for example, it wants to include the window assembly and two windows and a single door.

I want it to be a door with sidelites as one unit in the schedule.
    Any ideas?

You could make a space object with automatic property sets that pull data from door/window assemblies. You could then do a room finish schedule off the space objects to shoow those automatic property sets.

Now that sounds like three times the work I want to do.

Right now - I can get the schedules right in the DWG of each level but when I Xref them it grabs ALL doors and windows. In the DWG you can specify the door, window or assembly to be included but not in an Xref.

Do you think that is the only way I can get it - by adding space objects? That sucks!

No, I don't think that's the only way you can get it.

There is an option for getting stuff to schedule right through xrefs & it's escaping my memory right now. It's one of the options for an object setting, I think for schedule tables themselves, to xref properly.

Maybe one of the others in here will have their memory jogged by this & post it - otherwise I'll look at it later.

I would like it to allow me to have a window with let's say a number "A" to be scheduled and counted throughout the entier project as well. I don't want 11 "A" symbols in my schedule just because I have 11 levels.

I just really have the problem when I have assemblies for sure.

I would appreciate any help on this.

Create a layer filter for the schedule tool. See "Help" "creating a schedule table tool" for more info. Seems like alot of work...

Layer filters are one way - provided you want to exclude all windows or that you put nested doors and/or windows in Door/Window Assemblies on a different layer from stand-alone doors and/or windows that you want to schedule.

Another possibility, if you use different styles for Door/WIndow Assembly infills [doors and/or windows] and stand-alone doors and/or windows, would be to set up a Classification Definition that allows you to identify which styles are to be scheduled and which styles are to be excluded from the schedule.
